Hi, I'm Jamie!

Jamie Trujillo is the Executive Director of Challenge Island – Albuquerque North. She comes from an adult education background and has been involved in the education field since 2005. She jumped at the opportunity to bring Challenge Island to New Mexico because she has a passion for enriching the lives of New Mexico's children and giving them an early love of STEAM fields. She firmly believes that Challenge Island is a pathway to uplifting New Mexico in a way that it hasn't before.

Jamie has brought Challenge Island to several City-run community centers in Albuquerque as well as adult education programs throughout the state, providing holiday field trips, family literacy, and after-school programs. She is excited to branch out to as many community centers and schools as possible!

Jamie holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology respectively from the University of Phoenix and University of New Mexico. She lives in Albuquerque with her wife, two children, and two dogs that act like children.
