STEM + ART = STEAM!

Our proprietorial curriculum incorporates creativity and artistic elements to every challenge for a true STEAM experience.

Challenge Island kids learn all about the Scientific Process and STEM Careers during our Challenge Island STEAM Adventures.  Now Challenge Island kids can get a first hand look at STEM Careers and the Scientific Process IN ACTION through our new collaboration with Emory University’s Child Study Center .

The Emory Child Study Center’s work is designed to better understand how to promote positive developmental and educational outcomes for children. They are currently seeking families with children from infancy through 15 years old to participate in ONLINE child development research studies. The Emory Child Study Center studies language, learning, memory, and how children understand space and numbers.

Challenge Island families who wish to participate in the studies will learn about STEM/STEAM careers in psychology and child development research.  They will get to experience the scientific method firsthand as they participate in research about how kids learn.

  • Most studies last around one hour. Weekend & late afternoon appointments are available.
  • Parents may be with their children the entire time and may observe the study sessions.
  • Studies are designed to be like games for the children to make their experience enjoyable.

If you are as excited as we are about this collaboration, fill out the form below. Once completed, you will be redirected to the Emory University Child Study website. Scroll down to “How To Sign Up” and fill in the form. If you have any questions, please Contact Us.
