St. Patrick’s Day is often associated with luck, rainbows, and pots of gold — but at Challenge Island, we believe we’re lucky for another reason: the opportunity to learn, create, and grow together.
Rainbows themselves are a perfect STEM example. They form when light bends and reflects through water droplets, separating into different colors. That’s physics in action — and a reminder that even something magical has scientific roots.
Designing leprechaun traps (a classroom favorite!) brings engineering into the mix. Students brainstorm, build, test, and improve their creations using the engineering design process. Collaboration, creativity, and resilience turn “luck” into learning.
This season, we’re not just lucky — we’re empowered. Empowered to think critically, make new friends, and build ideas that shine as brightly as a rainbow.
